Products - Generation 4 Interface Technology

Bells speak straight to the heart and soul. So it’s no wonder that people have long depended on their clear, compelling tones to share the things that truly bring communities together: faith, joy, sorrow, alarm, and celebration.

For the church,
it's a subtle, pervasive means of outreach.

For the commercial institution or municipal center,
it's a warm-hearted way of staying in touch with the community.

For the memorial park,
it's a solemn reminder of the past.

We make it all possible with Generation 4 Electronic Carillons, the ultimate expression of Schulmerich craftsmanship and engineering. They bring the sound of bells to people in all kinds of settings with an ease and reliability that has set an entirely new standard. After all, Schulmerich has set the standards for electronic carillons since 1940. Electronic carillons start with Schulmerich’s patented Auto-Bell® Player and TrueCast® electronics. Add to that the most powerful and innovative carillon operating system in the world. Top it all off with a graphical user interface that makes operation easy -- and you’ve got the Generation 4 Electronic Carillon.

The Generation 4 Interface/Control Panel

The first thing you will notice about the Generation 4 Electronic Carillon is its remarkable interface. A large, backlit screen is front and center, constantly displaying the date, time, and system status. Icons and plain-English menus help you every step of the way. A high-reliability optical spinner knob makes everything as easy as point-and-click. And in case you do manage to get lost, never fear-context-sensitive help is always available.

From the Interface/Control Panel you can navigate through 32 libraries which are designed for manual or programmed play. Combined they can store up to 1200 selections from our huge collection of encoded carillon music. You can also program any one of the 8 clock chimes to play at any quarter-hour time increment, with or without single or multiple hour strike. Tempo is adjustable too.

Up to eight traditional clock chimes are included:

  • Westminster
  • Whittington
  • Winchester
  • St. Michaels
  • Ave Maria/Lourdes
  • 4 Bell Parsifal
  • Tennyson
  • Norwich
Playable at any quarter-hour time increment, with or without single or multiple hour strike. Tempo is adjustable, too.
You’ll be able to schedule up to 128 different program points for each day of the week, each one with up to six different functions. And for long-term scheduling, 256 special program points-with five functions each can be programmed. The possibilities are endless!
