Silver has been ringing handbells since 1977. She is the Associate Director of Handbells at Church of the Servant in Oklahoma City where she rings in the advanced handbell choir and directs the beginning/intermediate adult handbell choir. She also rings in a 4-in-hand quartet and performs occasional bell solos. In addition, she rings in the advanced handbell choir at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Oklahoma City.

Silver has been active in Central Oklahoma Ringers and Directors (CORD) since 1998. She served as President in 2001 and continues as a board member. Through CORD’s Oklahoma City metro area substitute ringer list, she has rung in 8 metro area choirs and substituted-director on several occasions. Silver is also active in AGEHR. She acted as Publications Editor/Webmaster on the board of Area IX from 2002-2005 and Membership Chair from 2005-2006. She has taught classes on various handbell topics at CORD’s annual festivals and Area IX events. She also leads private workshops.

Silver has a B.S. in Medical Technology from Wichita State University. She worked in two hospital laboratories before starting a family and becoming involved as a church musician.
